Artistic Development: Internships

Jessyca Holland

Former Synchronicity intern Jessyca Holland in Anton Acts Out

Synchronicity is dedicated to the development of young artists—particularly young women.

To this end, we initiated an intern program in 1999. This program is free-form but highly disciplined, driven by the needs and skills of the particular artists. Think of it as a mentorship. Some participants work on a show-by-show basis as a design assistant, assistant stage manager, assistant dramaturge, etc. Others work with us in a long term internship in areas like marketing, pr, fundraising and development. We have partnered with students from Oglethorpe University, Agnes Scott, Emory and Spelman College, among others, and can work with your school to facilitate receiving credit for your work.

In addition, we occasionally offer performance internships, where you can work as an actor on a particular show as well as receive master classes, one-on-one mentoring and fulfill crew duties.

Essentially, if you are smart, eager, punctual, inquisitive and play well with others, we want to work with you. Synchronicity is a nurturing and supportive environment in which to learn, and we want to support your growth as an artist. We are also a great place to get to know dedicated, conscientious and talented members of the working arts community, which in many cases quickly leads to employment for our interns.
