Playmaking for Girls - Public Performance
The opening number of Public Performance 2005
In June of each year, we present a one-night only performance of eight
plays created during the Detention Center Workshops.
The girls we work with are recently released from a detention center,
and/or currently living in a group home. Most of them are currently
on probation.
The show is rehearsed for six days, and then performed for family,
friends and the community. After the show we conduct a talkback with
the audience.
After the Public Performance, the show then travels back to Metro RYDC,
for one performance for the detained youth.
