A one-weekend only workshop production of this new musical

Music & Lyrics by Jeremiah Parker Hobbs

Book by Jessica De Maria & Jeremiah Parker Hobbs

An intimate new folk rock musical transports us to a world of dimly lit bars in which a single moment can be transformed into a lingering memory by no more than a guitar and a mic. Jacob, a singer songwriter on a path toward super stardom, struggles to make sense of the big moments in his life – most notably the end of his relationship with Grace, a passionate woman fascinated by a romance from the past. Two other characters weave the stories of other couples into this powerful blend of music, love letters, and poetry.

Originally presented in New York City in the 2015 New York Musical Theatre Festival.  Dan Markley, Executive Director & Producer

About the Production Team

Co-writers Jeremiah Parker Hobbs and Jessica De Maria are both Atlanta based writers and performers. Hobbs, an actor, singer, songwriter and musician, appeared as "Riff Raff" in THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW at Actor’s Express for which he was nominated for a Suzi Bass Award. He recently starred as Peter in PETER AND THE STARCATCHER at Georgia Ensemble Theatre and appeared in the world premiere of TELL ME MY DREAM by Pearl Cleage at the Alliance Theatre. He has written countless songs, and a published novella, Love/Sick. De Maria, a Long Island native, appeared recently in SWEENEY TODD at Actor’s Express and THE LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA at Theatrical Outfit. Up next, you can catch her in KISS ME KATE at Stage Door Players and THE THREEPENNY OPERA at 7Stages. Other credits include THE GRIMM LIVES OF THE INBETWEENS (Alliance Theatre), MARY POPPINS, LES MISERABLES (Aurora Theatre) and THE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD (Stage Door Players). Jessica has also performed with, Georgia Ensemble, Synchronicity and Pinch N' Ouch.

The very beginnings of The Last Time We Were Here started in 2008, when, in a playwriting class in college, Jeremiah challenged himself to write a musical. Over the years, the music, the lyrics, and the story continued to evolve as a labor of love for Jeremiah. Enter Jessica in early 2014 as a writing partner with new passion and perspective. Together they fleshed out the story, songs, and life of the piece. Their collaboration was the impetus to get the show where it is today. The musical was presented by The New York Musical Theatre Festival in July 2015.
