A Stripped Bare Arts Incubator Workshop
A creative dance experience about artistic expression and the scientific world.
BRIDGING THE GAP BETWEEN SCIENTIFIC KNOWLEDGE AND ARTISTIC EXPRESSION
“Viscera” is a dance theater work that interweaves contemporary dance, video projection, and spoken word to explore and illuminate the intricate structure of the human musculoskeletal system. This multidisciplinary performance delves into how our physical framework supports and challenges us, reflecting on both the triumphs and tribulations we experience when this internal structure is disrupted. “Viscera” seeks to educate and inspire audiences by bridging the gap between scientific knowledge and artistic expression, highlighting the profound connection between our physical structure and our personal experiences.
Creating new plays takes time, open hearts, and dedicated space to nurture ideas. It takes a commitment to investing in artists and helping to discover and grow new voices. And it demands resources focused on process, artistic exploration, and room to risk. Our Stripped Bare Arts Incubator Project provides research and development time to at least four new projects per season – bolstering new artists, forms, and voices. A Stripped Bare project is not about sets, lights, props, and costumes. It is about actors, words, passion, movement, and ideas.
