Two dreams. One law. No easy plays.
In a near-future Dallas, a new state law—SB47—lets residents police their own neighbors, blurring the line between safety and surveillance.
When Abi Walker finds Luis Diaz shooting hoops on the court behind her gated community, their confrontation sets off more than just sparks. She’s gunning for a spot on UConn’s roster. He’s fighting for a shot at pre-law. They need each other more than they know.
But as their connection deepens, a buried truth changes everything—forcing them to question where they come from, where they’re going, and who’s allowed to dream out loud.
MEET THE ARTISTS
Tori Weddell is an Atlanta playwright and producer who believes that stories are the best thing about being stuck on this strange turning ball. She’s the founder of ATL Original Works, best known for its performing arts variety show at PushPush Arts, and serves as the Development Coordinator for Atlanta Fringe Festival. In 2023, she wrote, produced and directed an immersive one-act house party called An Evening with the Fitzgeralds based on the lives and legends of Zelda and Scott Fitzgerald. Thank you to Elyzabeth Wilder for midwifing the birth of this play since its first draft in 2018.
